Dr. Navjeet Shelly Gandhok

Meet Dr.Gandhok

Dr. Shelly (Navjeet) Gandhok is Board-certified in hematology and oncology and treats a variety of cancer types and blood diseases. She has a special interest in women’s health and female cancers. She completed a residency in Internal Medicine from the University of Illinois Hospital in Chicago and a fellowship in Hematology and Oncology from Louisiana State University in New Orleans.

She moved to Arizona with her family in 2005 and has been practicing in the West Valley since 2006.

 

Both Dr. Gandhok and her husband, also a physician in this area, are passionate about supporting the local communities in Sun City, Sun City West and Surprise. They have two children and love to travel and read in their spare time.


Their daughter has received special mention by Sun Health Foundation for her volunteer efforts in supporting the Phoenix senior community during the COVID pandemic.

“Phoenix is our home and we feel our patients are family,” says Dr. Gandhok.

Heather Venema,
PA-C

Heather Venema, PA-C is a highly skilled medical professional who has been an integral part of Dr. Gandhok's team since 2011. As a Physician Assistant, Heather brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to Sage Hematology and Oncology, and is dedicated to providing the highest quality of patient care.

Heather received her Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies from A.T. Still University in Mesa, Arizona, in 2009. She is a proud member of the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA), the American Academy of Physician Assistants (AAPA), and the Arizona State Association of Physician Assistants (ASAPA).

Originally hailing from Grand Rapids, Michigan, Heather moved to Arizona in 2001 to pursue her dreams of practicing medicine. Prior to her graduate studies, she earned her Bachelor's degree from Alma College in Michigan with honors, graduating Cum Laude. Her academic achievements are just a testament to her unwavering commitment to her patients.

In her free time, Heather enjoys staying active by attending Orange Theory fitness classes and hiking, but nothing brings her more joy than spending quality time with her loved ones. She is a true people person, which is evident in the compassionate way she interacts with her patients.

Heather's dedication to her profession is matched only by her desire to provide the best possible care for her patients. With her extensive knowledge and expertise, Heather is committed to improving the health and wellbeing of all those she serves. As an esteemed member of Dr. Gandhok's team at Sage Hematology and Oncology, Heather is a vital asset to the practice and the medical community as a whole.
